Debbie McCormick named regional manager for Ellensburg Medical and Dental Clinics

YAKIMA, WA – Community Health of Central Washington (CHCW) – Ellensburg Clinic is pleased to announce that it has named Dr. Micahlyn Powers, MD, as its Site Director.  Powers is also a family care physician at the clinic.

“Debbie has a keen eye for detail and will lead our newly remodeled and joined medical and dental clinics in Ellensburg well,” says Dr. Mike Maples, MD, CEO, Community Health of Central WA.  “With the increased healthcare demand and growth of the Kittitas area, we will continue to grow our clinics, recruiting the best and most talented providers and staff.”

McCormick holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Communication from Ohio University and a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Regent University.  She has over 35 years of organizational management experience in medical care holding various positions for the Department of Veterans Affairs.  Most recently, McCormick was the Associate Medical Center Director (Chief Operating Officer) of the Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial Veterans Medical Center in Walla Walla, WA, where she was responsible for operational and administrative functions for the medical center covering the service area in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon.

McCormick began her career at Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio as a Clerk-Stenographer, and also worked as an internal consultant for business process redesign at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA, while obtaining her master’s degree.  In addition, she held a variety of positions in the Department of Veterans Affairs including: Chief Medical Administrative Officer at the VA Health Care System, Palo Alto, CA; Assistant Chief Medical Administrative Officer at the VA Medical Center in Salisbury, North Carolina; Chief Business Officer at the VA Health Care System, Palo Alto, CA; and Associate Director for Operation at the Marion Division of the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System, Marion, IN.

In her new role as regional services manager, she is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating medical and health services for the Ellensburg Clinic’s medical and dental clinics.  She’ll also manage the facility and adapt clinic procedures and policies to changing healthcare laws, regulations, and technology.  McCormick will also be responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the medical practices and delivery to patients, sharing in the administrative functions that directly impact medical services and collaborating with the management team in the overall planning and budget activities.

Community Health of Central WA’s Ellensburg Clinic is located at 521 East Mountain View Ave, Ellensburg.  In addition to the Ellensburg Clinic, Community Health of Central WA has a network of health care clinics and programs in Yakima, Ellensburg and Naches areas in Central Washington and has a staff of 300 employees.
