What is Open Enrollment?
Open Enrollment is the period of time during the year that people who need health insurance and do not qualify for free State health Insurance can purchase health insurance or make changes to their existing policies. It is possible to compare plans and options and make the best choice for your existing circumstances.
During the year, most people are not allowed to make changes to their application or change plans (unless they qualify for special enrollment) or free apple health
For that reason, it is VERY important to review your health insurance during the Open Enrollment period.
When is Open Enrollment available?
This year, Open Enrollment is available from Nov 1 through Dec 15 (except for Medicare patients.)
Medicare Patients have a different Open Enrollment period which runs from Oct 15 through Dec 7 this year.
CHCW can refer you to local agencies that can assist with Medicare enrollment.
Who needs to participate
Anyone who wants to review and make changes to their existing health insurance policy through Washington Health Plan Finder to better serve their needs, medically or financially.
How does Open Enrollment work?
During the Open Enrollment period, you can apply for insurance plans with a monthly premium. You are able to compare prices and coverage and select the best plan for you.
Open enrollment also helps patients that currently have insurance that does not benefit them medically. If your plan does not cover your current medication and treatment plan, you can look for alternatives.
What is The role of CHCW?
Community Health of Central Washington will assist you in new enrollment and renewal. CHCW has certified Navigators on our Outreach Team. These Navigators help you select, apply for and renew your health insurance.
CHCW will also hold open enrollment events. During the Open Enrollment event, you will have access to CHCW Navigators to help you explore the Washington Health Plan Finder. Navigators will be able to answer your questions.
