Sandra Maciel joins team to serve new and current patients as well as managing all nursing staff at the clinic
YAKIMA, WA – Central Washington Family Medicine (CWFM), a service of Community Health of Central Washington, is pleased to announce that it has added Sandra Maciel, RN, to its medical team as the clinic’s nurse supervisor. Maciel will oversee all the nursing staff functions at the clinic.
“Under Sandra’s supervision and leadership, our clinic will continue to build upon its excellence of quality of care throughout our team areas, enhancing our clinic and serving our patients and community well,” says Mike Maples, MD, CEO, Community Health of Central WA. “Through her previous role as lead RN, she has shown tremendous management ability and we welcome her to the new position at the clinic.”
Maciel has 10 years of nursing experience in both clinic and hospital settings. Most recently, she was a lead registered nurse for the clinic for six years, working in coordination with clinic leadership and serving as first support for the clinic’s nursing staff. She holds an associates of science degree in nursing from Yakima Valley Community College.
Maciel’s responsibilities as nurse supervisor of CWFM include providing day-to-day operations of the clinic, including directing, organizing and supervising the clinic’s nursing staff. Her primary duties are evaluating the performance of staff nurses, providing feedback and mentoring, developing education programs, contributing to staff professional development, interviewing and hiring nurses and medical staff, helping develop department budgets, and promoting the best interests of clinic’s staff and patients.
