Gina Many joins residency team as Medical Educator
YAKIMA, WA –Central Washington Family Medicine Residency Program, an extension of Community Health of Central Washington (CHCW), is pleased to announce that it has named Dr. Gina Many, PhD, as its first medical educator.
Dr. Many holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. In addition, she holds a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Maryland and a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from George Washington University. Dr. Many completed post-doctoral fellowships at University of Alabama Birmingham and Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Previously, she led clinical research studies focused on minority health care and disease prevention for Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC.

Dr. Many started at CWFM – Residency Program on March 20th. As the program’s medical educator, she serves as part of the core faculty for residency program. She is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating resident physician curriculum for the Family Medicine residency program, developing the faculty’s teaching skills, and training other staff and volunteer faculty on teaching resident physicians.

Central WA Family Medicine Residency Program, a service of Community Health of Central Washington, is a 30 resident family medicine residency program and provides a rich learning experience. Residents learn to provide community based comprehensive and continuous ambulatory care to medically underserved patients representative of the cultural, socio-economic and demographic diversity of Central Washington. The program provides full spectrum Family Medicine training including OB, integrated behavioral health, osteopathic manipulation medicine, procedural training and inpatient pediatric and adult medicine. Residency is the last component of physician training following medical school and prior to specialty certification and entry into independent practice.
